Yesterday, Blizzard announced details of their latest Collector's Edition - World of Warcraft : Cataclysm. The collector's edition includes similar features as the last World of Warcraft Collector's Edition such as a Behind the Scenes DVD, Mouse Pad, Soundtrack, Trading Cards, In Game Pet and the Art Book. This expansion pack features many new things as it splits the world into two worlds with level cap raise to level 85 and introduction of two new races; goblin (horde) and wargons (alliance). This is a must have and there is no release date set yet but be sure to get the collector's edition before it sells out. The World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector's Edition is available now on Amazon.com for $79.99 and the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is available for $39.99.

Sony has announced minor changes to it's PlayStation 3 as they add larger hard drives to the device and a new wireless controller. The 160GB PlayStation 3 will be releasing any day now for $299.99 in retail stores; as the 320GB PlayStation 3 with Move will be shipped out on Sept 19 and retail for $399.99. They have added a few motion system configurations to this upgrade but no major upgrades compared to earlier this year. Earlier this year they released slimmer PlayStation 3 along with WiFi and 3-D HDTV capable. The PlayStation 3 still trails Wii and XBOX 360 as rumors and development begin on the PlayStation 4 with no expected release date.

As the dust settles on Blizzard's Starcraft II game, selling over 1 million within the first 24 hours of launch, they move on. With World of Warcraft Cataclysm in beta all signs have indicated that they are on track with Activision fiscal reports and is expected to release in the last quarter of 2010. This could expansion could possible delayed until early 2011 because Blizzard doesn't like releasing games that are not truly ready and will hold the game for release. As beta testers of the game all have reported fairly good results with this expansion.

Nintendo has officially announced today that is has sold 30 million Wii units in the Unites States after only 45 months. This makes it the fastest-selling console of all times as it follows Sony's Playstation 2. As of June 2010 Nintendo Wii has sold 74 million worldwide while Sony has sold 140 million Playstation 2 consoles. Why has the Wii edged out its competition like the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360? It's sauces has been contributed to two factors; the first is the innovation of the Wiimotes. The Wii controller is a motion sensor controller given you full ranges of abilities by just moving your control. Although this year Sony and Microsoft has announced similar devices coming to their system which leads to the second part. The Nintendo Wii has its general population in families and group friendly games as the cater to that market unlike the other two consoles. This has been a marketing battle that Disney has controlled in the theme park industry for year, Nintendo rules the gaming marketing in such the same manner.
