Apple has officially released iTunes 10 this week with more then three million downloads within the first 48 hours. One of the most noticeable features in their attempt into a social network using music as the main theme. This feature is called Ping with currently over one million users within the first 48 hours and more to come. It will allow you to track your favorite artist, friends, post status, videos and photos like most social networks. On release they had Facebook Connect but had to remove it due to violations of usage. There are many flaws within this system but once Apple works out the bugs it could even rival Last.FM in Social Media. As for a initial review this concept is great for those iTunes users but far from competing with their competitors but with Apple's Marketing Power.

Earlier this week Toshiba announced a massive recall on nearly 41,000 laptops. They have become the latest laptop vendor to fall victim of overheating technology leading to recalls. The notebooks they have recalled are the Satellite T135, Satellite T135D and Satellite ProT130 as they can overheat when they are plug-in to AC posing a burn hazard to consumers. There have only been just over 100 reports of melting laptops to spark a massive recall. As this may not effect to much of Toshiba's Notebook business because Sony and HP recalled notebooks earlier this year for the similar reasons. In most all cases processors run hot, batteries produce a significant amount of heat creating engineering problems as notebooks get smaller and thinner. Intel and AMD are in the process of lowering the power used by processors for newer notebooks.
